We are looking for Strategy Director who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Purpose of this role

As the Director of Strategy at BUUK, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the company. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify the strategic priorities that will continue to maintain our position as number 1 in our core market(s) and deliver exceptional stakeholder value.

Your key responsibilities are

Develop the overall deliberate strategic direction for the company, aligning it with the long-term vision, goals and objectives.

Lead the strategic planning process, including:

  • Situational Analysis - conducting and/or commissioning external industry analysis and internal analysis
  • Future scenario modelling – conducting and/or commissioning business impact analysis on various strategic choices/policy decisions
  • Conduct and/or commission research and analysis to identify market trends, competitive landscape and emerging opportunities
  • Creative swiping – conducting and/or commissioning research to draw on best practice from outside traditional competitive landscape to create additional stakeholder value from strategic priorities
  • Identifying growth opportunities, and assessing for suitability, feasibility and acceptability to key stakeholders

Clearly present findings and recommended strategies to the leadership team

Lead on strategy approval with shareholders and other key stakeholders alongside CEO and CFO

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, driving the company's growth and competitiveness

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business related degree, eg finance, economics or statistics or a related field.

Experience/Knowledge

Significant experience in strategy development, transformation, or related roles.

Financial and business acumen.

Translating complex data into actionable strategies.

Knowledge of and ability to apply strategy development frameworks.

Abilities/Skills

Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.

Ability to gain in-depth knowledge of the utilities industry.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong leadership and team management abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire others.

Desirable

Masters in Business Administration or advanced degree.

Utilities market and industry understanding.
