Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Senior Tendering Engineer (PON) who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Purpose of this role

To lead Tendering sub teams, ensure effective and sustainable delivery of all Power On utility tenders to the market for all market sectors.

Your key responsibilities are

Accountable for Quality, customer service and technical resolution.

Leadership of their team to deliver high quality engineering solutions to support all sales activities for the business.

Effective planning, resourcing, and utilisation of their staff to meet overall company objectives.

Ensuring the work by their team and themselves is in accordance with Customer and Business requirements.

Leads and supports on upstream network operator and key Customer Interfaces.

Accountable for the Line Management and Performance Management of their tendering team members ensuring they team the business’s needs.

Accountable for recognising the gaps in competencies, be it technical or soft skills within their direct reports.

Represents Company at external meetings.

Any other duties as required by their manager.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering discipline, lesser qualification with greater experience.

 

Experience/Knowledge

Some Commercial Experience – e.g. Contract Negotiations, Basic Finance knowledge.

Currently peer checking.

Effective Project Management skills.

Desire to extend technical specialism to aid the Business.

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation – CDM, ESQCR.

Abilities/Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Ability to deal with customer in a businesslike manner, in the interests of business whilst maintaining good customer relationship.

Effective prioritisation of team’s workloads and efficient resource utilisation.

Ability to deal with various challenges and working with existing resources to provide best possible solution.

 

Desirable

MSc or further study.

Extensive experience leading teams working in Tendering and Design functions.

Experience in training others.

Working experience in design and tendering.

MU experience/knowledge.

Authority to Tender approve.

Technically Competent in all aspects of tendering up to 20/33kV.

Authority to Tender approve or currently peer checking.

Conditions of Employment

You will hold a driving licence.
