GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Senior Electrical Project Manager who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
The Senior Electrical Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex electrical projects from inception through to completion. The role involves managing project teams and programmes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and maintaining strong client relationships. The successful candidate will provide leadership across multiple projects while driving operational excellence and commercial performance.
Your key responsibilities are
Lead and manage multiple electrical projects simultaneously.
Develop project execution plans, programmes, and resource schedules.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Manage project risks and identify mitigation strategies.
Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Site Managers, and engineering teams.
Mentor and develop junior staff and emerging leaders.
Promote a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Conduct regular project reviews and performance assessments.
Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
Champion a strong safety culture across all projects.
Ensure projects comply with quality management procedures and standards.
Support environmental and sustainability objectives.
Provide technical guidance on electrical design, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
Review engineering documentation and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
Support design coordination and value engineering initiatives.
Ensure effective management of commissioning activities and project close-out.
Qualifications
Appropriate Electrical Qualifications.
Appropriate H&S Qualification.
Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Significant experience managing large-scale electrical projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry regulations.
Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Experience/Knowledge
Distribution Engineer background, specifically operating on 11kV networks either as an SAP or SAP in training holding AP status to enable switching under supervision in line with the CIC COP ‘Option 3/4'.
Significant experience and/or qualifications as well as having a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to the Electric Distribution Systems.
Line management experience
Desirable
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards chartership.
SMSTS qualification.
APM Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2 certification.
Experience within industrial, commercial, utilities, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors.
NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
