We are looking for Operations and Maintenance Engineer who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of BUUK heat and cooling assets and management of control systems. To manage service providers ensuring activities are completed to time, quality (including safety) and cost. To manage client interfaces and ensure excellent levels of customer service are maintained at all times.
Your key responsibilities are
To provide exemplary customer service to both internal and external customers.
To coordinate maintenance activities, both internal and external, to meet all insurance and regulatory requirements, manufacturers’ guidelines and best industry practice.
Ensure KPI and SLA performance of sub-contractors in relation to BUUK generation, distribution and metering assets meets or exceeds contract terms.
Raise under performance or non-compliance issues for remediation.
Will actively liaise with BUUK staff, customers and external service providers ensuring cross functional activities are completed safely, efficiently and effectively whilst maintaining high levels of customer service at all times.
Manage Energy centres, overseeing the performance of energy generation assets through management systems ensuring that ongoing operational efficiency and performance is maintained.
Recommend and implement process improvements as necessary.
In conjunction with the BUUK engineering and retail divisions, ensure planned and unplanned outages are managed, communicated and coordinated effectively, this may include the provision of emergency heat supplies if appropriate.
Implement plant maintenance policy.
Provide management reports on target/focus areas as and when required.
Ensure that all activities undertaken by internal staff and/or service providers conform with legal, statutory and regulatory requirements, and adhere to BUUK asset management standards, policies and procedures.
Ensure heat metering equipment operates correctly, so customers receive timely, accurate bills and minimising the potential for disputed accounts.
To take reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and other persons who may be affected by your acts and omissions as laid down in the organisation's Health, Safety and Environmental Policy, and to comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation as appropriate.

To be an intrinsic part of the BUUK Water and Heat Emergency Response Team as a tier 2 on-call representative as well as being available at other times to ensure our customer experience is managed effectively.
As a term of your employment you may be required to undertake such other duties and/or times of work as may reasonably be required of you, commensurate with your grade or general level of responsibility within the organisation.
Qualifications
Degree in engineering subject or apprenticeship.
Experience/Knowledge
Operational experience in the management of heating, cooling and generation plant and distribution assets.
Proven experience in contractor management including financial accountability.
Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge in asset management and meeting key regulatory requirements.
Thorough knowledge of Industry Standards, Codes of Practice, Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements and related Legislation is essential.
Contract and Contractor Management within the heat sector is essential.
Abilities/Skills
Sound commercial awareness and sensitivity to economical intervention levels, KPI and regulatory levels of service.
Excellent client and contractor management skills.
Computer literate.
Desirable
IOSH or NEBOSH H&S qualification.
Professional Membership of Industry related body or Membership of an Appropriate Professional Institution.
