Purpose of this role

To safely assist installing Gas / Water / Electricity / Fibre mains/ducts and services to relevant standards.

Your key responsibilities are

Work safely always and within authorised level, wearing relevant PPE that is supplied.

Assist installing and commissioning gas, water, electricity, and fibre mains/ducts & services as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.

Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.

Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the support team / line manager.

Sign on to point of work risk assessments and highlight to the team-leader where additional control measures throughout the day need to be implemented and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.

Identify and report any safety concerns, changes to design in accordance with the company Variations and Deviations Procedure, non-conformances, and site materials to the Multi-Utility Project Manager.

Attend Toolbox Talks and other training courses as required.

Assist in the recording accurate details of work undertaken.

Accurately record timesheets and bonus submissions in line with company policies.

Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the manager that fall within the general experience scope of the individual.

Qualifications

NCO1 Gas Assistant.

NCO1 Water Assistant.

Jointers Mate.

EUSR/SHEA Registration.

Experience/Knowledge

Knowledge of Gas, Water, Electricity and Fibre Networks.

Identify and understand utility plans.

Abilities/Skills

Full UK driving license.

Competent IT user.

Desirable

City & Guilds or equivalent experience or qualification.

Working on development sites.

Cable laying.

Towing.

Winching Operations.

Towing.

Winching Operations.

Conditions of Employment

You will hold a driving licence.
