Purpose of this role

Quality assurance of all heat meter assets that are being onboarded to the Heat Operations team. Maintenance and repair of all Heat meter assets within the Metropolitan portfolio.

Your key responsibilities are

As Metropolitans Heat Meter Technical Engineer, you will be responsible for the quality assurance of all Heat meter and associated infrastructure assets prior to acceptance into the Heat Operations team. You will also be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Heat meter assets across our live estate, including Bulk, Commercial, Landlord and Residential Heat meters. Collaborating with the established Heat Operations team you will play a key role in providing the highest levels of service to our customers whilst ensuring Metropolitan remain compliant with existing and future regulations.

Quality assurance and sign off, of all Heat Meter Assets and infrastructure of new sites being adopted by the Heat Operations team.

Maintenance and repair of all Heat Meter Assets and infrastructure.

Project management of a range of activities focused on the continuous operation of our portfolio heat meter assets.

Tracking and reporting of risks and opportunities.

Acting as Metropolitans expert, providing advice and guidance to our sales and engineering team to ensure our design and build requirements adhere to our technical specifications.

Qualifications

Part P electrical qualification.

Relevant IT telecommunication qualification.

NVQ Level 2 plumbing and heating or demonstrable experience.

Experience/Knowledge

Previous experience in a similar role.

Knowledge of a range of heat meter solutions with the ability to install, maintain and repair faults to the most recognised technology within Heat Networks.

Worked within the Heat Network Industry.

IT telecommunication skills and specific industry knowledge.

Abilities/Skills

Excellent customer facing service skills.

DBS.

Heat meter asset and infrastructure maintenance, fault diagnostic and repair skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient using Microsoft Excel.

Project management.

Desirable

City & Guilds 2357 NVQ Level 3 Installation or Maintenance.

NVQ Level 3 plumbing and heating.

Relevant project management qualification.

Experience of working within a regulated energy sector company.

Experience designing Heat meter technical solutions.

Experience assessing, maintaining and repairing the following technology:

Kamstrup heat meters
M-bus network cabling
Kamstrup Masters
Data loggers
Routers
Guru Hub II
Mobix
Evinox
Switch 2 G6

Conditions of Employment

You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to going into customers’ homes.
You will hold a driving licence
