Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Head of Heat Delivery who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
The Head of Delivery – Power On is responsible for developing Power On’s delivery capability of Heat Networks ensuring that all heat projects are managed effectively through the full project life cycle from initial tender through to adoption by Metropolitan. The role holder will work across the Power On business providing the required support to ensure robust processes are in place such that Power On’s construction and adoption works comply with the company’s procedures, contracts, legislation, technical standards & specifications, codes of practice and budgets relating to the businesses it serves.
Your key responsibilities are
Approval of heat project design and build scope, delivery/construction subcontractors and approval of the letting of all Power On contracts
Developing and managing the Heat Networks project management standards documents.
Asset quality through audit and inspection to ensure the company procedures are being followed during the project life cycle
Approval of all heat project RACI matrix, to support effective project delivery.
Providing visible leadership of the company’s Work Safe Home Safe behavioural safety programme
Responsible for the safe, efficient delivery of all heat network assets within the Power On business to provide the agreed key levels of service to Clients.
Ensure that BUUK group health and safety processes and company procedures are adhered to within the business.
Responsible for developing and managing the Heat Networks project management standards documents.
Responsible for asset quality and auditing.
Responsible for capacity management in the safe delivery of the heat networks working in in conjunction with the Construction Director and Operations Managers.
Working in conjunction with the Metropolitan Engineering Director and their team for the technical solution development with a view to meeting all required regulatory requirements and safety standards.
Responsible for all delivery documentation
Responsible for providing support and guidance to the Power On business on heat network related all contractual arrangements with suppliers and end-customers
Report and investigate any non-conformances or incidents in relation to the delivery of the project
Ensure the necessary Company technical accreditations are obtained and maintained.
Review and approval of the Company’s assigned engineering operational procedures.
Competency assessment of staff and contractors.
Lead the development of the company’s heat network project delivery training programme.
Performance Management and Development of the Team in a helpful and open working environment in line with furthering the ethos of Great Places to Work.
Commercial awareness and understanding and furtherance of the company profile within the industry.
Provide accurate quality work within the department and company and to external Clients.
Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Managing Director - Metropolitan and Construction Director.
Qualifications
Current CSCS card.
Management Qualifications i.e., ILM
H&S Qualifications i.e., IOSH or NEBOSH
Experience/Knowledge
Experience working of leading and managing teams of project managers to deliver complex utility and heat network infrastructure on new build development sites.
Must have excellent working knowledge of current Legislation, Health and Safety and Technical Standards and Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to Heat Networks, Gas and Electricity Distribution Systems.
Abilities/Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
Ability to use project management software tools such as MS Project.
Desirable
Degree.
Professional membership of an Appropriate Professional Institution (e.g., Association for Project Management.
Experience in training and coaching others.
