We are looking for Systems Developer - OFNL who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Purpose of this role

The Systems Developer will be responsible for the development, support, and maintenance of operational systems that manage OFNL’s Gigabit fibre-to-the-home network. The ideal candidate will possess strong software development skills with a minimum of two years of experience and the ability to adapt to various coding environments. A customer-centric approach is essential to ensure that all systems contribute to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Your key responsibilities are

Collaborate closely with operational teams to develop and support the operational systems, with a strong emphasis on automation to scale systems in line with business growth.

Demonstrate proficiency in at least one coding language, with a strong preference for C# and ASP.NET MVC. A willingness to learn new skills is essential.

Experience with web services and MySQL (or other relational database management systems) is highly desirable.

Knowledge of IP, broadband, and voice networks will be considered an advantage.

Engage in DevOps practices, contributing to the development and maintenance of systems within an operations team.

Define and agree on system specifications in collaboration with stakeholders.

Maintain software and scripts to meet evolving operational requirements.

Actively contribute to the development of a scalable systems architecture to support network expansion.

Ensure high availability and optimal performance of systems to maximise customer satisfaction.

Collaborate with other development teams to support and integrate systems.

Develop new systems to enhance broadband, data, and voice product offerings.

Work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing relationships with internal and external suppliers.

Plan and prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines.

Investigate and resolve technical issues as they arise.

Participate in training sessions and remain current with relevant technologies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

Experience/Knowledge

Knowledge of maintaining or developing in a coding environment and able to demonstrate competence in at least one of the following:

C# 

ASP.NET MVC

SQL 

PHP

JavaScript

CSS

SOAP/REST APIs 

Abilities/Skills

Proactive individual with strong creative and analytical thinking skills, adept at developing innovative solutions and capable of independently resolving challenges.

Desirable

Experience in Linux and Windows server configuration and management.

Working knowledge of networking technologies such as IP, Ethernet, TCP, UDP, SIP, and VoIP.

Experience with VMware ESXi Hypervisor.

Familiarity with C4 Modelling and SNMP network management protocols.

Experience in development within the Netadmin framework is a plus.
