We are looking for Heat Operations Officer who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Purpose of this role

To coordinate the day-to-day operations activities for our heat networks, ensuring that everything runs as efficiently as possible for all our customers.

Your key responsibilities are

As part of the Operations team, you’ll be at the heart of what we do – supporting and delivering a great experience for our customers. 

Assisting the Retail team’s Contact Centre to help support day-to-day customer activities – providing day-to-day assistance to Customer Services Advisors and Contact Centre Team Managers.

Ensure Metropolitan provide a timely response in reactive maintenance, to ensure contractors attend to unplanned interruptions – whether it is in the home, plant room, energy centre, or elsewhere on the network – to ensure the response is attended to and fixed within the Metropolitan Guaranteed Standards, and it is aligned with the service provider’s contract.

Administer the Operations maintenance activities, including HIU servicing, planned and preventative maintenance at the Energy Centre or elsewhere on the network. Ensuring that communications are sent out to all customers that would be affected by the works.

Administer the Metropolitan Operations invoicing, manage the Heat Invoices inbox and raising any purchase orders to ensure the BUUK Finance team can pay related invoices.

Administer the planned and reactive maintenance work to ensure it is correctly recorded for reporting and auditing purposes.

Overseeing activities with the Operations and Maintenance Engineers to assist with their attendance to queries from Metropolitan retail customers, building managers and housing associations.

Assisting with Metropolitan ICT developments that will enhance internal processes, including contributing ideas and testing areas that may be applicable.

Support the Heat Metering Officer with any metering queries, particularly during periods of high demand or overflow. 

Joining First Line Support on the Out of Hours Emergency Standby Team.

Any other duties as required by the manager.

Qualifications

5 GCSEs grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent standard of education).

Experience/Knowledge

Experience in developing relationships at all levels both internal and external.

Demonstrable experience in delivering great outcomes for customers.

Abilities/Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer literate.

Attention to detail.

Positive and proactive attitude.

Displays initiative and a curiosity for improvement.

Desirable

Have experience of working in the heat networks sector.

Have experience of working with third party contractors.

Experience of using a customer relationship management software package.

Conditions of Employment

You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to going into customers’ homes.
