Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Cable Jointer (PO) who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
To install distribution network electrical infrastructure in accordance with company procedures.
SSE Authorised HV/LV Cable Jointers.
To work in the North half of the SSE region.
Your key responsibilities are
At all times work safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures wearing relevant supplied PPE.
Install and commission multi utility infrastructure as instructed, ensuring that all work is undertaken is compliant to the required standard of safety and technical quality, following all appropriate generic and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report any defects to the Resource Manager.
Complete site specific risk assessments on a daily basis and ensure maintenance of a safe working environment.
Act as a Competent Person on Energisations (if assessed as competent).
Attend and actively participate in “toolbox talks” and other training courses as required.
Record accurately details of work undertaken and submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescale, ensuring compliance with correct procedures.
Any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Resource Manager/Regional Manager that fall within the general experience scope of the individual.
Qualifications
DNO operational authorisation.
NRSWA certificate for operatives.
CSCA card.
City & Guilds or equivalent experience or qualification.
Experience/Knowledge
Manual handling.
Working on development sites and public highways.
Abilities/Skills
Identify and understand utility plans.
Undertake cable jointing activities.
Desirable
Undertake network energisations (if assessed as competent).
