We are looking for a Graduate - Engineering (Electric) who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
(The graduate scheme follows a three-stage interview process. Candidates who are successful at the telephone interview stage will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in Milton Keynes on Thursday 10th December. Please note that this is currently the only Assessment Centre scheduled).
Purpose of this role
To gain broad based experience within BUUK whilst contributing to day-to-day business activities. Graduates may be streamed to either construction, electricity, water, fibre, or heat networks on a three-year scheme while working towards IEng and CEng status.
Your key responsibilities are
Undertake tasks and projects that will give practical experience within the utilities industry.
Rotate throughout different departments to explore other roles to gain a rounded experience.
Maintain a record of experience and learning while working towards professional engineering status.
Visit and work within other BUUK offices throughout the UK, undertaking site visits when required.
Develop an understanding of wider business functions and how they operate together.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Any other duties as required by the manager.
Qualifications
Educated to degree level in an appropriate Engineering based discipline and have achieved (or be working towards) a minimum 2:1 grade.
Experience/Knowledge
Team player/experience in working as part of a team.
Abilities/Skills
Demonstrate strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Excellent listening skills, the ability to build rapport.
Desirable
CSCS or equivalent.
Experience within the utilities industry.
Awareness of Health and Safety Procedures.
Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
