GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Compliance Auditor who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
Reporting to the Street Works Manager, working as part of the Street Works auditing team in line with BUUK policy, ensuring on-site compliance & reporting.
Your key responsibilities are
The role will include supporting the Street Works, Senior Compliance Auditor, in line with the company health & safety policy, correct working practises & core values. Providing instruction, guidance, monitoring & and reporting on all aspects of relating to on-site Street Works compliance.
The role will require daily contact with on-site street works representatives and their performance on site. This will mostly be undertaken independently and require the post holders experience & knowledge to make a professional judgement to ensure compliance with legislation.
Identifying on-site discrepancies, conflicts & seeking to resolve any problems in the first instance in a positive collaborative working manner. Dealing with all queries in a timely manner, within agreed Standards of Service for both internal & external stakeholders.
Providing accurate and concise evidence (including photographs) for reinstatement defects and s74 violations, along with making assessments of temporary traffic management and working method’s compliance, ensuing the public & site staff and within safe environments.
Liaising with & supporting other employee’s or sub-contractors involved in the coordination and regulation of activities to minimise disruption to the highway users.
Reporting will include the preparation for weekly & month end reporting – ensuring timescales are adhered to as per the managers requirements, in line with specified KPIs. Whilst pro-actively supporting any breaches of permit conditions and contraventions of the regulations so that Fixed Penalty Notices can be avoided.
It is the responsibility of the post holder to keep up to date with new legislation & regulations, organisational procedures, policies and professional codes of conduct in order to positively promote best practice.

IOSH Managing Environmental Responsibilities
Experience/Knowledge
Proven track record of being able to prioritise workload effectively & efficiently.
Abilities/Skills
Excellent verbal, written, communication & interpersonal skills.
Must have a pro-active approach to resolving issues.
Desirable
Excellent verbal, written, communication & interpersonal skills.
Must have a pro-active approach to resolving issues. NEBOSH Occupational, Health & Safety Certificate
CITB SMSTS
(Site Management Safety Training Scheme) Experience with the excavating, backfilling, mark-board specifications for HV cabling & joint bays,
Overall knowledge of Electricity, Civil (Deep Excavations), Signing & Guarding and Reinstatement requirements / best practices. Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.
