We are looking for Asset Surveyor who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.
Purpose of this role
Responsible for support of asset delivery in relation to all aspects of potable/wastewater design and construction. To undertake wastewater scheme design review and all aspects of construction inspection and approval.
Your key responsibilities are
Deliver on all potable/wastewater network site inspections including pumping stations.
Undertake all aspects of design review in relation to wastewater asset delivery.
Provide technical support on projects with strategic points of connection and discharge.
Coordinate installations with incumbent, contractor and developer.
Ensure agreed program of works for asset inspections are delivered.
Have demonstratable knowledge of all aspects of water and wastewater networks and operation.
Assist and investigate operational events and report findings.
To have appropriate knowledge and experience to ensure the connection of wastewater networks on strategic projects align with programme.
Provide accurate quality work within department and company.
Maintain a helpful and customer focussed work environment.
Assist the department in the development of greater efficiency within the company.
Ensure that all relevant information is recorded accurately and submitted on time.
Continuous improvement of the design and approval process.
Any other duties as required by the manager.
Qualifications
GCSEs in Maths and Science.
Experience/Knowledge
Experience of working within the water industry within developer services or similar background.
Working with housing developments, design, installation, commissioning and operation of water/wastewater distribution networks.
Experience in liaising and collaborating with partners, contractors, incumbents and developers to facilitate the successful delivery of all projects connecting to BUUK networks.
Have a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to Water and Wastewater networks.
Demonstrate Health and Safety competence.
Abilities/Skills
Competent in the use of all standard Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and other similar applications.
Self-motivated and proactive.
Excellent standard of written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
A levels.
Degree in engineering subject or equivalent.
SMSTS qualification.
Confined space training.
Current CSCS card.
Experience in training others.
Computer aided design knowledge.
