Power On, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for Tendering Engineer (Level 4) who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

 

We would also welcome applications from those who do not currently have all the requrements but would be interested in applying at an Assistant Tendering Engineer level.

Purpose of this role

To complete designs and costings for customer enquiries and generate new orders to the business. The objective is that by implementing Power On practices and processes as well as customer satisfaction, the role will help support and grow the business.

Your key responsibilities are

Accountable for quality, customer service and technical resolution.

 Produce designs, costings, and proposals for utility connections to new build developments.

 Provide excellent customer service, by always trying to exceed their expectations.

Effective planning to meet overall company objectives.

Ensuring the design work is in accordance with Customer and Business requirements.

Work closely with the sales team to make our proposal to the market as commercially attractive as possible.

Have a drive to learn and progress knowledge, supported by internal training and development.

Ensure effective management of internal asset value documentation.

Be creative in finding solutions to problems to maintain good relationship with customers.

Ensure ‘Safety by Design’ through a Design Risk Assessment Process.

Leads and supports on upstream network operator and key Customer Interfaces.

Contribute to your team, sharing knowledge and experience.

Represents Company at external meetings.

Any other duties as required by their manager.

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent qualification, lesser qualification with experience.

 

Experience/Knowledge

Some Commercial Experience – e.g., Contract Negotiations, Basic costing and quote preparation knowledge.

Effective Project Management skills.

Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation – CDM, ESQCR.

Abilities/Skills

Excellent verbal communication skills.

Effective prioritisation of teamwork loads and efficient resource utilisation.

 

Desirable

MSc or further study.

Extensive experience leading teams working in Tendering and Design functions.

Experience in training others.

Working experience in design and tendering.

MU experience/knowledge.

Technically Competent in all aspects of tendering up to 20kV.

 

Conditions of Employment
